One of the main reasons for a car stalling using the A/C on is a seized compressor. If you have screeching, smoking, stalling and the air blows warm out of the vents whenever the AC is turned on it's a good guess that the compressor has jailed. If there is only belt squealing but your vehicle doesn't stall and the actual way the AC cools, more than possibly the belt or the tensioner is designed worn. The most likely reason for a car not idling high enough and sometimes stalling relating to the A/C turned on free of of the other similar problems mentioned can be an IAC (Idle Jet Control) motor.
*Keep in mind the compressor could be hot to the touch when checking.
How to look into the locked up or grabbed compressor
- Try to turn the clutch plate (on the finale of the cpompressor).
- Using a socket on the nut store the clutch plate on - see if as we can turned.
- Look for signs of the clutch plate over-heating; discoloration.
If the belt is loose perhaps it's because of a splintered serpentine belt tensioner, but this one thing won't cause the forcing to stall. A sticking IAC motor may lead to the car to kill time waiting. An IAC motor many times gets carbon build up that creates sticking. If the idle doesn't elevate when the AC is turned on the engine can not work. Many times if right here is the problem, the IAC motor can be taken off from the throttle body and cleaned which includes a brush and fuel injector spray nowadays re-installed.
